With its 58 cm format and at least 8 minutes of rain sound, this Rain Pillar offers a delicate, extended listening experience, particularly suited to quiet settings, alone or with one other person. Its ebony finish, dark and understated, gives it an elegant contemporary presence. Made in Montpellier by a cabinetmaker and art-object restorer, it combines sound quality, woodwork and a particularly refined level of finish.
8 Minutes rain pillar audio sample
To fully enjoy the sound sample, we recommend listening with headphones or earphones. The AB08 reveals its full character when listened to at close range.
For at least 8 minutes, the movement inside the instrument produces a continuous rain sound whose changing rhythm and subtle variations can be followed throughout the flow.
This model is particularly suited to personal listening or two people. A very small group can also share the experience when the room is quiet enough for everyone to hear the finer details of the sound.
At 58 cm, it provides a longer listening experience than the 5-minute model without yet reaching the dimensions or acoustic presence of the larger formats.
This intermediate size makes it easy to place in an interior, a professional wellness setting or a space dedicated to relaxation.
The ebony finish gives the Rain Pillar a darker, more graphic appearance. On its simple vertical form, the veneer becomes an important part of the overall design, giving the instrument a genuine visual presence in the room.
The term “ebony” refers to the visual finish only. It does not mean that the structure of the instrument is made from ebony wood.
The engineered natural wood veneer, joints, cork, surface treatment and varnish are all worked with the same attention to precision.
Each instrument is made in Montpellier by a cabinetmaker and art-object restorer, accustomed to working on pieces where the quality of execution remains visible down to the smallest details.
At €289, the 8-minute model combines a substantial sound duration, French handcrafting, genuine woodwork, natural wood veneer and a level of finish rooted in cabinetmaking.
The cork is produced and processed in France, and the natural varnish is prepared directly in our workshop.
The balance between price, sound quality, craftsmanship and finish is therefore one of the strengths of this model, particularly for anyone looking for both a high-quality sound instrument and a carefully crafted object.
Its dark finish and careful execution allow the Rain Pillar to remain naturally visible in an interior.
Even when it is not being played, it retains a strong visual presence.
