For at least 8 minutes, the 58 cm Rain Pillar produces a soft, fluid and nuanced rain sound, particularly suited to listening alone or with one other person in a quiet space. Handcrafted in Montpellier, it features a rosewood finish in engineered natural wood veneer. This finish gives the instrument a warm and distinctive visual character.
8 Minutes rain pillar audio sample
To fully enjoy the sound sample, we recommend listening with headphones or earphones. The 58 cm model allows you to settle more fully into the listening experience.
For at least 8 minutes, the elements inside the instrument gradually descend, producing a continuous rain sound without the need to turn it over again immediately.
The longer duration works naturally alongside meditation, massage or relaxation. It is primarily intended for one person or a pair, although a very small group can also listen when the environment is particularly quiet.
The subtle character of the AB08 is easier to appreciate in a calm environment.
It is not designed around volume. Its appeal lies instead in the continuity of the flow and the small variations that emerge as the minutes pass.
The rosewood finish gives the instrument a warm and distinctive visual personality.
This term refers to the appearance of the finish and does not mean that the structure of the Rain Pillar is made from rosewood.
The surface is covered with engineered natural wood veneer. The wood sheets are worked to create a more consistent pattern and tone while retaining small differences from one instrument to another.
These variations are part of the material itself and avoid the perfectly uniform appearance of a synthetic printed surface.
On an object with such a simple form, the quality of the finishing work is immediately visible: the joints, surface treatment, precision of the end pieces, integration of the cork and feel of the varnish all matter.
Each instrument is made in Montpellier by a cabinetmaker and art-object restorer, with equal attention given to its operation and its final appearance.
The natural varnish is made in the workshop, and the cork used in the instrument is produced and processed in France.
